Will we ever be free?

The fake war for control in washington seems to have only one casualty, freedom. The government grows more and more each year. both "sides" want the same thing, total control over our every action. Will we ever be able to stop this crazy nonsense and get back to allowing people to just live there lives without someone else forcing there morals on them? how in the hell did it ever become possible to tell someone that couldn't do something that wasn't hurting anyone else? i keep hearing about the" greater good". The greater good is what A james bond villain talks about before they try to crash an economy, or blow up a country. Hitler, and Stalin talked about the "greater good". Seriously, what is greater, what is more easily identifiable as good, than freedom? Isn't freedom supposed to be the end result of everything we work for? Why do we stand for this?
