Who and What is Judas?

Judas was the Apostle who betrayed Jesus. The fact that the Religious leaders were delighted to have the help of Judas suggests that the followers of Jesus were for the most part loyal to Him. This is unusual in Political and Religious Groups, so Jesus seems to have been an inspirational leader.
