How much money would the U.S. take in if they added 1 cent to the sales tax after it was added?

as big as it would be for the government, it would be to the taxer..As it adds up for gov, it also adds up for the one spending..And since it would be a percentage, not just a penny...take one % away from the tax payer...can they afford this? This is how we ended up in this mess...How big would it be if the gov. took one % away from their spending...Across the board...Like to see those figures
